ACT Math study guide · Chapter 54
Review Your Timing
Text size
Do not begin by staring at the score. First separate the section into four groups.
| Group | What to do with it |
|---|---|
| Correct and fast | Leave these alone. |
| Correct but slow | These are hidden pacing losses. Find the faster route or the earlier recognition cue. |
| Wrong but solvable | Identify whether the miss was content, recognition, execution, requested object, tool, or time. |
| Not yet solvable | Return to the teaching chapter before doing more full tests. |
Then audit the clock. Which question first created a meaningful delay? Which later questions were rushed because of it? Did the section actually become harder, or did one local stall make the rest feel harder?
Finally, redo only the missed and slow questions without time pressure. A full test is useful only if it changes what happens on the next full test.
