Geometry and Trigonometry Timed Practice
Geometry accounts for roughly 17 to 20 percent of the current scored Math blueprint, and it spans several visually different skill families: similarity, right-triangle trigonometry, coordinate geometry, circles, conics, transformations, and geometric measurement. This focused mini-section intentionally overweights those skills so you can practice them under time pressure.
Directions and timing
- Length: 20 questions in 22 minutes, a compressed slice that matches official section timing.
- Calculator permitted. Choose the best answer for every question and leave none blank.
- Work the whole section in one sitting, under real timing, before checking anything. Set a timer, and do not look at an explanation until time is up.
How to review
Afterward, look back at each miss and name the actual cause instead of only the wrong answer. Typical causes in geometry are:
- a theorem you did not recognize (for example intersecting chords, tangent-chord angles, or the Law of Cosines);
- a diagram detail you misread;
- a setup or calculation slip, such as calculator in the wrong mode, or squaring after taking a root;
- answering the wrong requested object, such as the angle opposite the other side, or cubic inches when cubic feet were asked;
- time lost before exiting a stuck question.
Tracking which of these causes shows up most often tells you what to fix before test day.
