Domain Mastery Set A: Algebra
This set opens the domain mastery practice in Part VI. The content chapters are finished, and what remains is transfer: using the right mathematics when the topic is no longer named, the clock is running, and the next question may arrive as an equation, a table, a graph, or a paragraph.
What this set covers
Set A contains twelve mixed Algebra questions on the skills the blueprint weights most heavily: derived targets (a quantity you can find without solving for the variable), linear functions rebuilt from two values, parameter questions in systems of equations, underdetermined systems, threshold and discount models, inequalities read from a graph description, compound inequalities, intersections found from mixed representations, and solution-count reasoning when a variable cancels.
Directions
- Do not look back at the chapters while working. The point is to test whether a method can still be recognized once neighboring topics are mixed in.
- Mark any item where the first useful move does not come within about twenty seconds. That hesitation is information, even when the final answer comes out right.
- Six questions are student-produced response (type in your answer); six are multiple choice.
- After each item, read the worked solution and name the structure you should have spotted: a derived target, a parameter, a representation switch, or a scope trap.
Review every marked item first, then every miss. If the same structure shows up twice among your marked items, return to that chapter after finishing the set.
